Technology Help for Home Learning

Parents and Students,

Many teachers have sent information to me about different issues this week and we have solved many of those by relaying the information to the teacher. This takes a little extra time and we cannot help you as quickly as we would like. Feel free to contact us directly for any issues so we can help you as soon as we can. If you send an email to it will immediately be entered into our ticketing system. Please add a phone number to your email, so that we can call you back if we need to. We are here to help in any way that we can.

District WiFi Access

I know that with limited internet access in our district, parents are looking for ways to connect.

You can access the school internet from any of the parking lots next to our buildings. A school device will automatically connect to the correct network.

We have added additional Wifi in the stadium parking lot. You should be able to have high-speed access from any parking space in the stadium parking lot.

Many thanks to the businesses in Carthage that are also giving student's access to their Wifi passwords. The ones that I have posted are the ones that I know of at the moment. I will update the list as I learn of more.

UIL Academics and Athletics

AUSTIN — The University Interscholastic League (UIL) is extending its suspension of all UIL sanctioned activities due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Texas. All contests, practices, rehearsals and workouts will remain suspended until further notice. At this time, the earliest games and contests may resume is Monday, May 4th. Prior to this date, the UIL will allow its member schools a reasonable acclimatization period for rehearsals and practices to occur. All decisions remain flexible and will be consistent with the advice of local, state and federal officials. “We are working diligently on contingency plans to conduct state championships in each of the activities that have been suspended,” said UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt. “While the immediate future is unclear, we are committed to providing these much-desired activities to all Texas students and will prepare for all possible outcomes, including extended school closures.” The UIL will continue to provide timely, ongoing updates and is reassessing this ever-changing situation daily. Please continue to check the UIL website and social media accounts for further updates.
